Additional Comments:
Before commenting further, it is imperative that I clarify that this bone element is possibly a sub-adult ramus or possibly the head of the 8th rib. I interpret this bone element as the distal end of the Left clavicle. The bone fragment is approximately 59mm in length and approximately 10mm in width. Mild discoloration and flaking with postmortem bone breakage of the superior portion of distal end of the clavicle. Bone breakage also occurs approximately 20mm from where the conoid tubercle once existed and was lost due to postmortem attrition. The exposed bone is trabecular in nature with lightened cortical edges, indicating post-mortem breakage. Due to the gracile nature and robusticity of the of other skeletal material, it is possible the fragment belongs to a juvenile or more gracile adult.
